WKU legend John Oldham dies Monday at 97

Western Kentucky University is mourning the loss of one of its all-time athletic greats. Former basketball player, later coach and then athletics director John Oldham died Monday at age 97.Coach Oldham played for the legendary EA Diddle in the 1940’s, returned to his alma mater to coach the Hilltoppers beginning in 1964 and led WKU to its only appearance in the NCAA Final Four in 1971. After that, he became the school’s athletics director, in which he served until 1986.

A private family service will be held next Monday, November 30th in Bowling Green with plans for a memorial service in the spring of 2021.
