You can now get news and emergency alerts from the Kamloops Thompson School District straight to your phone.
Kamloops School Board Chair Kathleen Karpuk says students and parents can now download the district’s new app.
“Our new website has been up and running, but the exciting new thing is our School District 73 app we now have for parents,” Karpuk said. “In the event that we ever have a snow day, that would get pushed out to parents via the app, an alert would come up on their phone.”
Karpuk adds the alerts would also include emergencies – for example – if a school was under lockdown.
“We’d be able to push that out and parents would know right away,” Karpuk added.
You can download the app on Apple iTunes or the Google Play store.
